Weapons-free Policy at SXSW

SXSW has a strict weapons-free policy.

SXSW is a private event and attendees are not permitted to carry weapons of any kind, or anything that may be construed by SXSW to be a weapon, onto the premises of any official SXSW events, including at venues such as hotels, restaurants, theaters, and/or temporary event spaces. Under 30.05-30.07 of the Texas Penal Code, this includes, but is not limited to, bringing concealed or displayed firearms onto the premises of any official SXSW events.

SXSW reserves the right to require anyone who violates this policy to immediately leave the premises of any official SXSW event, and to deactivate and/or revoke SXSW Badges and Wristbands. By attending any SXSW event, you agree to comply with this policy.

If you see something, say something. If you see a person with a weapon in or at a SXSW event, get to a safe location and call 9-1-1.
